Great annual conference
I want to start out by thanking the Battle Creek Fire and Rescue Department for a great conference! As usual, it was great to see my firefighter family again from departments across the State.

The annual election is in the history books and I was able to “pull out” a win for the position of President of the Nebraska State Volunteer Firefighter’s Association.
On September 24, Martin Volunteer Fire Department Hosted the 2022 Badlands Fire School in Martin. Five classes were offered for the day.
Hopefully, you all made it through harvest season unscathed and uneventful.
The SDFA Board of Directors will be holding the winter board meeting 12-13 January 2023 in Pierre.
Christmas is literally just around the corner; I mean in a couple of weeks. So Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to each and every firefighter in the state, along with their loved ones.

At the regional fire school in WaKeeney the first weekend in November I asked the group assembled how many of them were professional firefighters.

Howdy Minnesota firefighters and friends. The firearms deer season finished in my area yesterday. Hopefully those that go had a safe, enjoyable hunt.
