     Apr. 2-3, 2020: Preparation for Initial Company Operations (NFA) Course, Dubuque.

     Apr. 16-17, 2020: Leadership in Supervision: Frameworks to Success (NFA) Course, at Fire Service Training Bureau.

A massive fire erupted on Feb. 27 at Michael’s Foods west of Bloomfield, destroying one of the barns and killing 400,000 chickens. The facility produces eggs. The fire was so intense that a National Weather Service satellite detected the heat from 22,236 miles above the earth.

     A report of smoke in The Vault building in downtown Hot Springs was first called in at around 8:30 p.m., this past Monday night, Feb. 17.

     The Oberlin fire station was filled with firefighters from around the area, repre­sentatives of Pheasants Forever and the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism, for wild land fire training on Saturday.
