Rockerville Area Wildland Fire contained at 4 acres

     The Rockerville Volunteer Fire Department responded to a report of a wildland fire threatening structures in the 13000 block of Highway 16, Unincorporated Pennington County, SD on Mar. 5, 2021 at 2:41 p.m.

     Upon arrival firefight-ters  found an active wildland fire, threatening structures, infrastructure and immed-iately requested a second alarm for additional resources.

     The fire was contained at four acres, with one structure receiving minor damage.  

     No injuries to firefighters, civilians or domestic animals were reported.

     Agencies responding: Pennington County 911, Rockerville Volunteer Fire Department, Hill City Volunteer Fire Department, Whispering Pines Volunteer Fire Department, Rapid City Fire Department, Battle Creek Fire Department, Keystone Ambulance Service, Johnson Siding Volunteer Fire Department, Rapid Valley Volunteer Fire Department, Black Hills Electrical Cooperative, Pennington County Sheriff’s Office, Black Hills National Forest and South Dakota Wildland Fire.
